Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m interested in buying an Advantage Home. What should I do?

A: Thank you for your interest. The first thing you should do is give us a call. One of our product specialists will be able to assist you from there. They can walk you through all the steps required, such as financing, ordering and choosing your options.

Q: What if I want to personalize my house?

A: You’re in luck, you can do that. We have created an option list that gives you different choices for your new house. These options range from an extra half-bath to a larger deck, or brand new stainless steel kitchen appliances, even granite counter-tops if you want them.

Q: Why should I buy appliances from you when I can go buy them myself?

A: There are two reasons. First we will install them and ensure they are working properly. Second, if you buy the appliances through us you are able to roll them into your mortgage. This means you won’t have to come up with the money to buy appliances after you have paid all of your other fees.

Q: What if I want to move a wall, change room sizes or modify the layout completely?

A: Unfortunately, we are not able to do that. Our homes are customizable, not custom. If you are interested in making large changes to your house, we can introduce you to some reputable local contractors who will make your dreams happen.

Q: Do you guarantee a move-in date?

A: We do not like to set move-in dates until the project is weather-tight. We don’t want to give you a date and then get three weeks of rain. Once we’re weather-tight, we have more control over when we can work and are able to establish dates.

Q: If I have my own piece of land, will you build on it?

A: At this point we are set-up to work in our subdivisions only.

Q: Can I buy a piece of land from you and build on it myself?

A: This will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to discuss it. Please note we will have certain requirements for your building that you need to meet.

Q: What other fees will I need to pay?

A: You will have closing costs, which include lawyer’s fees, deed transfer taxes, tax adjustments, utility hook-ups. Please contact us for more information on these fees.
